Come one, come all!!
The Chelsea Car club (Chelrods) is hosting their annual car rally Saturday September 26th.

Basically it's a navigational rally with a nice driving on some beautiful back roads, along with some scavenger hunt thrown into the mix. Well organized, good crowd, and lots of prizes and trophies too! I have done this rally and it is a lot of fun.

How does it work?
Basically it's a two-person team, driver and navigator. You are given a set of maps to follow, a set of questions to answer about things along the course. Your score is based on the number of correct answers and the time it takes you to complete the course. It's NOT a race, so you lose points if you finish too quickly ....or too slowly.

And now the details.... Grin

Sat. Sept 26 (Rain or Shine.....but no worries, it has always been sunny for the past several years)
1:00 pm Staggered Start
Chelsea Freshmart (528 Route 105)
$20/vehicle

This is a letter the Club received via email:

Hi folks,

Louis Boucher from the OVTC has organized a drive to Mont Tremblant for
September 12 (rain date September 19).  This has traditionally been an
All-Clubs event, and we would like to again extend an invitation to all
of you to join in this fun drive.

The date has been moved up a bit to September to avoid the rather cold
weather experienced last year.

More details will be available soon, but I wanted to ask you to send
this invitation to your club members as soon as you can so the people
interested can put it on their calendars.  A rough outline of the plan
has people arriving at the meeting point at Trim Road at 8:30 for a
departure at 9:00. There will be a pit stop in Hawkesbury, followed by
lunch in Tremblant and planned return to Ottawa by 4:00 pm.

Could you please forward this invitation on to your club memebers and
ask people to reply to Louis Boucher at louisboucher@videotron.ca to
confirm participation or if they have any questions?

Thanks,

Don

President’s Monthly letter – August 2010

Past Events:

1) August Monthly Meeting:

This monthly meeting was held at the Prior Sports Bar in Arnprior. Members had a chance to try the famous Wings at the Prior! Thank you Matt for organizing this monthly meeting!

Two new members joined the club.

2) August Monthly Ride: Poker Run

On August 7th, we had our Poker Run organized by Russell King and Neil Grant. Once again, Mother Nature granted us with wonderful sunshine! We were all bright and early at the first lock to start the run… well, one car was missing, but they joined at the next lock Wink

With all documents in hand, we had a real guided tour from Russell along the way to Brockville. Neil was distributing cards along the way to the players. At our destination, David Poker Master checked every player’s cards: Russell King was the grand winner of a metal cast Mini donated from Mini Ottawa East! The worst hand, Jules, received a card game. He will now practice for next year!

At the RibFest, we had a designated area to park our Minis… in the middle of the park!!! Can’t have a better parking spot than that! We all enjoyed ribs and watched the boats at the docks. You can view David’s picture at the following link:
